Littlehampton Town Council  August 2025  Storytelling
I just wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to Helen for her amazing performance. It was such a joy to experience a personalised story about Littlehampton, beautifully tailored around our local history. Her storytelling brought the combination of the past and fantasy to life in such a vivid and engaging way.  Being so close to Helen’s performance area, I had the pleasure of watching the interactions between her and the crowd—it was truly special to see how captivated everyone was. Her ability to connect with the audience made the experience even more memorable.
Please can you thank Helen once again for sharing her talent with us.

The stories Cat told were amazing, she kept me in suspense and I was excited about what was going to happen.

Summer 2019

Hi, we wish to thank the council for arranging yesterday's event with WFS storyteller -Chris. Our granddaughter was spellbound as he brought the story of Alice in Wonderland to life together with craft materials to make your own Madhatter's hat and rabbit ears hat. A great use of our local council tax. It was a magical day despite the strong wind and showers threatening to blow the craft materials to Felpham! She wanted to stay for both morning and afternoon sessions (and we enjoyed it all too, of course!).

Storytelling
To engage with the power of stories and storytelling by:
Hearing traditional stories, finding and learning stories of our own and performing those
stories in a showcase at the end of the enrichment programme.
Recognising the stories that exist in our everyday lives and how understanding story
structure can help us to overcome blocks and meet new challenges.
Exploring a range of written story resources and undertaking individual research to find a story that resonates and says something to us.
Working as a group to knit our individual stories together into one great big story for performance. Reflecting on our story through the enrichment programme – the journey that we have been on together.
To engage with the production elements involved in creating an event by:
Consistently considering the logistics of putting together an arts event.
Exploring space and making decisions about what will suit the event.
Taking responsibility for key production elements and taking ownership of the event.
Working as a whole group and in pairs to supportively feedback to one another on our performances and to make decisions about how the performance will work as a whole.
Skills Development: Speaking and listening: public speaking: language development: self esteem:  team working: event management: creative writing: independent research: giving and receiving constructive feedback: reflection and evaluation.

Life and Times of Shakespeare
Staff comments about the workshop
I am personally very happy with John and the service he provided. All staff commented on John’s enthusiasm, and we have all said that he did a superb job. It takes a certain kind of person to be able to stand up and entertain 60 children, with just your voice and ideas, but John did that. Not only was he lots of fun, he taught the children (and staff!) lots about Shakespeare’s life and career. I am also especially thankful for his flexibility and adaptability. He managed to tailor his performance to the timings and groupings we specified. Thank you for all your hard work John.

Childrens’ comments about the workshop
All children were entertained and thoroughly enjoyed the day. They all enjoyed standing up and performing, as well as asking John an extensive list of questions about Shakespeare, but also about the job he does personally. It was noted that John worked hard to include all children at some point in the performances. Through the style of the session, it was great to see children who would never volunteer, be chosen to stand up and perform in front of their peers, this was a real confidence boost for them.
Please do pass on our thanks again to John, from all the staff and children at Whitehouse Common Sutton Coldfield

Hi Adele, Anna's storytelling workshops were a great success with children and adults. All members of staff I spoke to said Anna was really good and from what I saw she had the children were captivated. The children had a great time- there was lots of laughter and audience participation. She adapted the sessions well for each different age group and when I spoke to her she said she was impressed with how responsive the children were to her.
So altogether a great day- thank you!   Best wishes

Jake and Helen were great thanks - sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, but it has been a full on week.  The drums were a great success.  Thank you so much for organising both the Authors.  I will certainly recommend both of them and your Company.

World Book week 2016
The children were enthralled and spell bound as Jake told stories. They were entertained and educated as well. Superb! Thanks you very much.

An excellent workshop enjoyed by both adults and pupils. Supported our' talk for writing' in an exciting way. I would highly recommend Jake to other schools. Highclaire school Sutton .

The workshop was enthusiastically presented and engaged the children well. The quick pace and varied activities and props used were all helpful in supporting the story. The language used was appropriate for the level of the children and challenging for the more able. Thank you an enjoyable time was had by everyone present. Reedswood Primary Academy .
It was a nice opportunity for the children to hear a storyteller without a book - the way stories were originally told.
' I liked the bit about the caterpillar who wanted to come but the tiger said no!
