Adele Deane is a primary school teacher with 25 years experience in schools in the West Midlands.
"Creativity, movement, health and well being have always been utmost in my thinking and teaching. Having the opportunity to develop this further was the start of this exciting venture, and the birth of Workshops for Schools and Nurseries!"
Workshops initially began in 2007 with an idea about delivering more specialist work to children in the form of creative workshops for schools. It started with yoga, then specialist science workshops and now incorporates a wide range of workshops right across the curriculum to encounter current trends, curriculum changes and new initiatives. Sessions can be delivered either as regular clubs, hourly sessions, workshops, artist in residence weeks, staff in service training events and much more. The aim is always to tailor the work to each school or organisation’s specific needs and this is what makes WFS different.
We offer a bespoke service as it were. The range of curriculum areas and skills we can offer is extensive, as we now have over 400 talented freelance artists working with us to deliver forward looking and innovative projects.
Our practice is creative, developmental and offers progression wherever possible. Many of our workshops encourage team work, collaborative work as well as individual nurturing. We can offer yoga, peer massage, (MISP) rest and relaxation programmes, dance, drama, music, visual and expressive art workshops, crafts, science/DT, as well as numerous artist in residence projects.
Our objectives are:
To meet current curriculum requirements
Our skills allow us to adapt to many and different situations. Adaptability, flexibility, patience, understanding, communication are all key elements of our work.
Our packages and services can be discussed to meet your needs and requirements, whether you are looking for a session for a single class or a day/weeks event.
We have worked in schools during various events weeks to include...
