Children go wild for yoga at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum Create mystical and imaginative adventures with tradition yoga postures and a sprinkling of imagination.
The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum will be introducing young minds to the creative and imaginative world of Yoga Animals, Bugs and Birds. On Saturday 26 September, children can fly on mystical birds, prowl like a lion and play football with crabs on the beach all without leaving the safe environment of the gallery.
Event organiser, Jessica Pinson noted "Children really enjoy having the freedom to run wild with their imagination and Yoga Animals, Bugs and Birds is the perfect facilitator of this creativity. Using the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition as inspiration, we have been able to create an enthralling adventure for the children to go on whilst using some of the traditional yoga postures; what makes it even better is that it is completely FREE".
"I am the My Choice co-ordinator for Heartlands Cluster Extended Services and have personally engaged the services of Workshop for Schools on 4 separate occasions over the last 2 years either for a weekly or fortnightly programme of extra-curricular projects catering for between 60 – 75 children from local zone schools.
I cannot recommend WFS highly enough and our continuous working relationship is an endorsement of my confidence in their services. I remain impressed with how from inception to conclusion, a tailor-made varied and dynamic programme is always produced to my complete satisfaction. WFS provide quality and value for money resources which enhance our childrens experiences and build on their skills, ensuring they enjoy and achieve successful outcomes throughout the project. Looking at the bigger picture, WFS have positively contributed in planting the seed that helps many of the participants in finding an “interest”.
The success of our partnership working is due to the professionalism, quality, mutually high standards and the adherence to workshop outcomes by WFS representatives. Adele Deane and her team of artists are reliable, flexible and very innovative/creative, with the sole pre-requisite being to engages all participants. All programmes are well-attended by targeted children repeatedly and parents regularly inquire as to when the next programme will be held, this is borne out in parent and children evaluations.
I would not consider using another provider for my holiday provision, now that we have a tried and tested format which works exceptionally well. The success of each project is as a result of clear communication, intricate organisation and planning as neither WFS nor myself will overlook the detail of the overall plan given that we the importance of being thorough.
I trust this is sufficient for your purposes. Please do not hesitate to contact me, should you require any further information."
