ICE AGE
Ice Age is an activity day for primary level children studying pre-history. Children role-play a Stone Age tribe, following the herds of reindeer migrating northwards across the land bridge then connecting France with Britain.  They eventually arrive at Cresswell Crags.

Simply existing in the Ice Age was tough – particularly when you’re not necessarily top of the food chain. Children will learn about the essential skills needed to survive and the animals they would have had to confront.

Through a variety of activities, and with stories, puppets and masks, - not to mention a cave that we’ll build – the day will give children a vivid insight in the daily life of Stone Age man.

Man’s Best Friend
A sub-theme of the day is the emergence of the domestic dog. The tribe are attacked by a wolf, but later have to decide what to do with its wolf cub: Kill it for its fur or adopt it?
