Thank you so much for such a fantastic day.The pupils were so enthused and excited by Bob's knowledge and artistic ability. The different activities really brought to life some of the learning for the children and the outcomes were very high quality.
The town and market place was amazing and I know the pupils felt very proud of their product.
If you check out our Twitter feed there are some fantastic images of the day.
Thank you again,

New History Workshops With WFS

WFS have devised many new and exciting workshops designed  to meet the requirements of the New Primary History Curriculum at Key stage 1,2 and 3 . If there is a workshop we haven't covered do contact us as we are working on  new material all the time!
Workshops can be based around visual  art, drama, storytelling sessions and use of indoor and out door curriculum spaces within your school to make these experience 'real ' for the pupils.
Please ask for more detailed proposals on workshops to include:
  • Natural History
  • Art
  • Ancient Eqyptians
  • Ancient Greeks
  • Ice Age  An activity day for primary level children studying pre-history. Children role-play a Stone Age tribe, following the herds of reindeer migrating northwards across the land bridge then connecting France with Britain.  They eventually arrive at Cresswell Crags.
Simply existing in the Ice Age was tough – particularly when you’re not necessarily top of the food chain. Children will learn about the essential skills needed to survive and the animals they would have had to confront.Through a variety of activities, and with stories, puppets and masks, - not to mention a cave that we’ll build – the day will give children a vivid insight in the daily life of Stone Age man.
Man’s Best Friend A sub-theme of the day is the emergence of the domestic dog. The tribe are attacked by a wolf, but later have to decide what to do with its wolf cub: Kill it for its fur or adopt it?

  • Ancient Romans  Example workshop   Making The Most Of Mosaics - Romans Year In this workshop the children explore Italy and look at presentations  the history of mosaics . Pupils can then make a collective or individual mosaics that reflect historical mosaics or more modern times.
  • Roman Forum construction and drama workshop.( see image here )
  • Ancient Saxons
  • Vikings
  • Tudors  and Shakespeare
  • Victorians   Example workshop How the day will work - It’s Christmas 1887 and pupils become the ‘Baker Street Irregulars’ - the gang of street kids who feature in the Sherlock Holmes’ stories, acting as the detective’s eyes and ears in the great metropolis. In the absence of Sherlock Holmes, can they solve the mysteries and crimes?
