Example Pottery Workshop
Workshop Content:
 Pupils will be introduced to Greek Pottery through a collection of visual images. They will learn about the different shapes of Greek Pottery and their surface decoration.
 
Pupils will sketch out their own design for a Greek inspired coil pot.
 
Pupils will be introduced to the technique of coiling through a practical demonstration.
 
Pupils will begin coiling their own Greek inspired pots following their designs. 
 
Pupils will have the option to apply surface decoration to their pots using white decorating slip.
Workshops can be designed to fit in with a curriculum theme, topical subject or inspired by an Artist or Art Movement. Techniques covered include coiling, slab-building, low-relief work and sculpture.
​Arrangements can be made for the firing of work if there is no kiln at school or air drying clay can be used.
